Equipment Operator

The Township of Puslinch is seeking an energetic and motivated individual to fill the position of Equipment Operator with the Public Works, Parks and Facilities Department.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide the safe operation of Township equipment relating to road maintenance and construction, forestry operations, storm water drainage, and winter control activities.
• Perform daily safety and maintenance checks on equipment.
• Perform maintenance on Township Small Drinking Water Systems.
• Maintain accurate and appropriate records regarding infrastructure, fleet, and water systems maintenance.
• Perform additional duties and special projects as required.
• Respond to after hours emergency calls as required.
• Rotational on‐call is required.
• Shift work may be required during winter control.


Minimum Qualifications:
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a related environment.
• A valid DZ driver’s licence with a satisfactory driving record.
• Experience in mechanical repairs and welding is considered an asset.
• Operation of Small Drinking Water System Certificate, or willing to obtain.
• Valid chainsaw certificate.
• Sound judgement and decision-making skills.
• Good interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).


This position offers a comprehensive benefit package and an hourly range of $25.17 to $29.45 (2021 Rate).
