2026 Election Important Dates

March 25, 2026 – Candidate Information Session

May 1, 2026 – Nomination and Registration Periods Begin

This includes providing candidates with information relating to interim maximum contribution amounts for campaigns and expenses, notice of the penalties related to campaign finances, copy of procedures alternative voting methods and vote counting equipment.

August 21, 2026 – Deadline to File a Nomination or Withdraw a Nomination

A candidate who wishes to file or withdraw their nomination must notify the clerk in writing before 2:00PM.

August 24, 2026 – Clerk Certifies List of Candidates

All nominations to be examined and certified by 4:00PM and declare the candidate(s) elected by acclamation. First day for an elector to appoint a voting proxy.

September 1, 2026 – Voters list

Clerk to produce the voters list – revision period begins.

September 12, 2026 (Tentative) – Aberfoyle Fall Fair

September 20, 2026 – Interim List of Changes to the Voters’ List

The Clerk shall prepare and distribute an interim list of the changes to voters’ list.

September 24 to 29, 2026 – Ballots are Mailed Out to Eligible Electors

Ballots will be mailed out to all eligible electors within the Township of Puslinch. These kits will consist of a voting instruction sheet, a secrecy envelope, a declaration form, a ballot, and a return envelope. Electors are able to vote as soon as they receive this kit.

October 12, 2026 – Last Day to Mail In Ballot

This is the last recommended day for electors to mail their ballot back to the municipality, to be counted on Voting Day. Ballots mailed after this date are not guaranteed to arrive back at the municipal office in time to be counted on Voting Day.

October 15, 2026 – Vote by Mail Drop Off Location

Mini Lakes (2:00 p.m. – 7:00p.m.)

October 17, 2026 – Vote by Mail Drop Off Location

Clifford Evans (10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.)

October 19, 2026 – Vote by Mail Drop Off Location

October 26, 2026 – Voting Day

Ballots can be dropped off at the Municipal Office until 8:00 p.m. The results of the election will be calculated and released to the public as soon as possible after 8:00PM.

November 17, 2026 – New Term of Council Begins

The Inaugural Council Meeting will be held at the Municipal Office. The incumbent council will take their oath of office, and be sworn in.
