Aggregate Resource
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) is responsible for all licensed aggregate sites through the Aggregate Resources Act including:
- Issuing licences and changes to existing approvals under the Aggregate Resources Act (ex. detailed site plans, provisions, setbacks)
- Overseeing the rules governing aggregates
- Inspecting and responding to complaints
- Enforcing compliance
- Ensuring rehabilitation is carried out on site in accordance with the operating licence
All aggregate proposals and amendments must follow the guidelines set out in the Ontario Aggregate Resources Act, Ontario Planning and Development Act and the Ontario Planning Act.
What is the Environmental Registry of Ontario (ERO)?
The Environmental Registry of Ontario (ERO) is a online tool where anyone can share their comments and participate in provincial government decision-making that might affect the environment.
The ERO consults with individuals on the registry by:
- Posting notices that may affect the environment
- Allowing indiviuals to comment on the notices
- Informing the public of decisions made
The ERO gives notice on the registry for changes to or new environmental:
- Acts
- Regulations
- Policies
- Instruments

Township of Puslinch
The Township of Puslinch is responsible for:
- Processing zoning applications for mineral resource extraction
- Providing comments to the MNRF during the licence application process
