Make a Donation

The Township recognizes that community groups, organizations and individuals may wish to make donations or raise funds to support Township projects, programs or services. In order to conduct all municipal business in an open and transparent manner, Township of Puslinch Council adopted a Donation Policy in 2025. Township Council welcomes donations that are consistent with Township values, principles, and objectives.

The Donation Policy applies to all donations provided to the Township that supports projects, programs or services offered by the Township including:

1. Monetary Donations

  • A monetary gift, bequest, financial contribution including cash, profit from the sale of goods for the purpose of fundraising, or in-kind contributions of tangible property, which has been given to the Township voluntarily and without any contractual obligation or compensation or non-monetary consideration (ie. Advertising, services, etc.).
  • This donation will be acknowledged with an Official Donation Receipt for income tax purposes should the Donation be in accordance with CRA guidelines.

2. Gift-In-Kind Donations

  • Gift-In-Kind Donations are a gift of tangible property (Art, furniture, equipment, materials of historical interest, etc.), other than cash, which is an Eligible Donation.
  • This donation will be acknowledged with an Official Donation Receipt for income tax purposes should the Donation be in accordance with CRA guidelines.

3. Sponsorship or Naming Right Donations

  • Sponsorship and Naming Rights agreements between the Township and community partners, businesses, not-for-profit organizations and individuals that contribute either financially or in-kind to the Township in return for recognition, public acknowledgement, or other promotional considerations.
  • Sponsorships are non-qualifying donations and an Official Donation Receipt will not be issued.

4. Commemorative Bench or Native Tree Donations

  • Contributions to a Township Park through the Commemorative Bench and Tree Program as a tribute to an individual or organization.

Current Township Fundraising Campaigns

Fundraising Campaigns may be established to raise funds to be donated to the Township to support a particular Township project, program, or service. All Fundraising Campaigns require the approval by Council in order to be established. The Township is currently accepting donations for:

  • Puslinch Community Centre Digital Sign Replacement
  • Construction of the Killean School Bell Structure

These initiatives will be unveiled as part of the Township’s 175th anniversary at the 2025 Puslinch Community Showcase, Saturday October 4, 2025. Learn more at Puslinch.ca/175.

Non-Qualifying Donations

Non qualifying donations are donations where an Official Donation Receipt cannot be issued in accordance with CRA guidelines. These donations include:

  • Gifts of service including any non-monetary assets without physical substance, such as services, time, skills or effort;
  • The payment of a basic fee for admission to an event or to a program;
  • Sponsorships and Naming Rights
  • The purchase of goods or services and/or silent auction items for fundraising; and
  • Contributions involving Advertising, promotional benefits or business marketing products that provide an Advantage to the Donor
