Optimist Recreation Centre

Located at 23 Brock Road South in Aberfoyle, the Optimist Recreation Centre is the Township’s largest multi-use facility. With an outdoor arena, a gymnasium and a small party room, the Optimist Recreation Centre is the ideal space to host a range of events.

The outdoor arena hosts complimentary family skates and skating programs at during the Winter season. During the Summer and Fall seasons, the outdoor arena can be rented for non-ice activities. The gymnasium is available year-round for private rentals.

The Outdoor Arena

With two hockey nets, a scoreboard, and a sound system, the outdoor arena at the Optimist Recreation Centre is fully equipped for your next outdoor sporting event. Whether it’s an ice or ball hockey game, roller skating or even roller derby, this is the ideal place to enjoy being active outdoors, all year round.

The Gymnasium

Inside the Optimist Recreation Centre, you’ll find a full-sized gymnasium – the perfect space for a range of events and activities such as volleyball, basketball, dodgeball, floor hockey, Zumba and pilates. For facility availability, check out the Recreation and Leisure calendar.

The gym is also a great place to host a children’s birthday party.  Your rental includes the use of the gym equipment, and the party room for serving cake, drinks and snacks. The party room seats 15-20 people, has a fridge, sink, tables, chairs and is attached to the gym.
