Additional Residential Unit (ARU) Grant Application Form

Applications for the ARU Grant Program are open now until September 2027. Please review the ARU Grant Program page for more information regarding grant eligibility.

Please be advised that in order for your application to be considered complete and placed in the queue for review, applicants must also submit a Building Permit for the ARU through CloudPermit. A Building Permit must be issued and a grant agreement executed before funding can be released. Projects that have already received a Building Permit and construction has started where a grant application form was not submitted are not eligible to apply retroactively.

Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis, and funding is limited.

• I confirm that the ARU complies with all Township by-laws, including zoning and building/fire code requirements.
• I confirm that all property taxes, fees, and municipal charges are paid in full.
• I confirm the proposed unit will be used for long-term residential rental only and that short-term rentals are not permitted.
• I agree to maintain affordable rent (≤ 80% CMHC Average Market Rent for the required period).
• I agree to enter into a formal grant agreement with the Township.
• I understand that failure to meet program requirements may result in repayment of funding.
