If you have moved, changed your name, or turned 18 since the 2022 Municipal Election, you might not be on the Voters’ List.

How Voting Works in Puslinch
The Township of Puslinch uses an at‑large voting system. All voters can vote for all positions on the ballot. The candidate who receives the most votes will be elected.
Residents will be voting for:
- School Board Trustee
- Mayor
- Township Councillors (4 elected)
- County Councillor
Why Vote?
Voting is an important part of democracy. When you vote, you choose representatives who make decisions about laws and policies that affect how our community operates.
Municipal government is responsible for many everyday services, including maintaining roads and sidewalks, providing clean drinking water, snow removal, recreation services, and public safety.
How to Vote in the 2026 Municipal Election
The Township of Puslinch will be using Vote by Mail for this election.
- A voter kit will be mailed to every eligible voter on the voters’ list.
- Follow the instructions in the kit to fill out your ballot.
Eligibility
You can vote in the 2026 Municipal Election if you are:
- A Canadian citizen
- At least 18 years of age or older on Voting Day
- A resident in the Township of Puslinch
- A non-resident and you or your spouse owns or rents property in Puslinch
You are not eligible to vote in the 2026 Municipal Election if you:
- Are serving a sentence of imprisonment in a penal or correctional institution
- Are a corporation
- A person acting as executor or trustee or in any other representative capacity, except as a voting proxy in accordance with the Municipal Elections Act, 1996.
- A person convicted of a corrupt practice described in subsection 90(3) of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996.
Identification Requirements
You must bring one of the following acceptable identification (ID) with you to the voting location:
- Ontario driver’s license
- Ontario photo card
- Cancelled personalized cheque
- Insurance policy or statement
- Any other document included on the voter identification list
Important Dates
May 1, 2026 – Nomination and Registration Periods Begin
Candidates who register with the Clerk will be provided a Candidate Package, including a certificate of the applicable interim maximum amount of expenses. Candidates can start incurring expenses once the certificate has been issued.
August 21, 2026 – Withdrawal Deadline
A candidate who wishes to withdraw their nomination must notify the clerk in writing before 2:00PM.
August 24, 2026 – Clerk Certifies List of Candidates
All nominations to be examined and certified by 4:00PM and declare the candidate(s) elected by acclamation.
September 14, 2026 – Election Signs Erected
No person shall place an Election Sign or cause an Election Sign to be placed on any premises until after the issuance of writs for provincial or federal elections, or within six weeks immediately preceding a municipal election.

Week of September 21, 2026 – Interim List of Changes to the Voters’ List
The Clerk shall prepare and distribute an interim list of the changes to voters’ list that were approved on or before September 15.
TBD – Ballots are Mailed Out to Eligible Electors
Ballots will be mailed out to all eligible electors within the Township of Puslinch. These kits will consist of a ballot, a secrecy envelope, a declaration, and a return envelope. Electors are able to vote as soon as they receive this kit.
TBD – Last Day to Mail In Ballot
This is the last possible day for electors to mail their ballot back to the municipality, to be counted on Voting Day. Ballots mailed after this date are not guaranteed to arrive back at the municipal office in time to be counted on Voting Day.
October 26, 2026 – Voting Day
The results of the election will be calculated and released to the public as soon as possible after 8:00PM.
November 17, 2026 – New Term of Council Begins
The Inaugural Council Meeting will be held at the Municipal Office. The incumbent council will take their oath of office, and be sworn in.
